Hong Kong has a highly developed system in terms of transportation. It is by far the most convenient and accessible. Here’s a breakdown of each transportation provided in Hong Kong and their corresponding articles for more information.

MTR & Airport Express
Travelling through the MTR is a cheap option, with fares ranging from HKD5 to HKD15. The further you go the more you’ll have to pay. You can also commute to China through the MTR’s East Rail Line or High Speed Rail. Remember, an Octopus card is going to make your travels much more friendlier!

Taxi
Though compared to other transportation in Hong Kong, taxis are considered to be the more expensive option, Hong Kong boasts the cheapest taxi fares when compared to other countries in the world.

Buses and Minibus
Another efficient form of transportation provided in Hong Kong includes buses and minibuses.
A few lines worth knowing before your travels, including Line 9 that goes to Dragon’s Back. Line 94 or 96r travels to MacleHose Trail. Line 15 is a good option to go to The Peak when you don’t want to take the tram. Line 6 goes to Stanley and lastly Line 11 goes to Tai O Fishing Village from Tung Chung.

Star Ferry
Definitely the more unique way to travel from one side of the city to the other. It’s fun, extremely inexpensive and a good way to venture out and slow down in the fast paced city.

Tramway
One of the earliest forms of transportation in Hong Kong. You can appreciate Hong Kong’s view in a slow and relaxing pace, the best route would be starting from Sheung Wan Western Market to North Point. You’ll travel through the Financial Centre and local neighbourhoods in Wan Chai and North Point. Enjoy the ride all the way to the end as the tram will make its way through a wet market similar to the Thailand Maeklong Railway market.

Peak Tram
Another unique way to travel to Victoria Peak with stunning views at the top . Make sure to be aware of the long queues but other than that and choose a clear day for the spectacular views.

Outlying Islands Ferry
A pleasant ride to your chosen Outlying Islands in Hong Kong, including Lamma Island, Mui Wo, Cheung Chau, Peng Chau and Discovery Bay. The ferries will provide an escape from the rushy Hong Kong and are quite comfortable.
