- Biking
If you want to experience the city at your own pace, biking is probably one of the best options. Ride along the shore in the suburbs like Mui Wo, Cheung Chau, or along the biking trails in towns like Shatin and Tai Po.
As you glide up the cable cars in Lantau Island, you will have the city’s most important infrastructures in sight, including the Hong Kong International Airport and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. Explore the calm heart of Buddhism and Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery as you land and find your zen.
Hong Kong once had active volcanoes in Sai Kung millions of years ago. Visit the world’s largest hexagonal columnar stones, 3 metres tall and covers over 100km2to be accurate, and amaze yourselves by such natural wonders.
A reason to travel on a ferris wheel is that it is mobile and it gives you perspectives. The 196ft wheel by the Central seafront presents Hong Konger’s pride and joy — Kowloon side of the Victoria Harbour and the cityscape of Hong Kong Island.
Do you know only 24% of land in Hong Kong has been developed? Sai Kung on the East territory has loads of outlying islands where you could hop onto a boat at the Sai Kung Pier and spend an isolated tranquil day with nature.
