Situated in the northwest of Hong Kong, the 61-hectare Wetland Park is ideal for a visit with your children. It is thoughtfully designed to help children learn about different things encompassing a wetland habitat. The park can be briefly divided into two parts: indoor and outdoor.

Start with the stunning plaza

Before entering the park, you will be enchanted by the entrance, in which a tremendous oyster shell wall erects, as well as a huge maze beckoning on you while a 3D art mural depicting the park is worth some instagrammable photos!

Closely observe a deer!

The first spot you’ll approach is the visitor center, where a big playground is housed. Designed after the tropical forest – from the canopy to the underwater, the facilities are to give the kids a general understanding of the forest ecosystem and habitats.

Visiting “Lesser Mouse Deer” is definitely a highlight. This beautiful animal is kept in a mock dark atmosphere created by parkkeepers.

More than 240 kinds of birds

On walking the wooden plank road beside the pond, you might see egrets flying over while lotus flowers are appealingly blooming. The bird hides are scattered throughout the park, allowing visitors to ambush and take a glance to the birds. In fact, there’re more than 240 kinds of birds in the area. You will discover different types of birds if you go in a different season.

Crocodile’s there!

The only crocodile named “Pui Pui” is believed to be an illegal pet who was abandoned by her owner owing to its size, before being found in a river and becoming the headlines. It’s safe and sound in the park now.
