After all these Cha Chaan Teng heavy stir-fry, hotpot and stuff, isn’t it nice to go green sometimes? Try out Vego Coffee, a vegan cafe that plates up a range of vegan dishes, from plant-based cheesy pizzas to its highly acclaimed dessert selection, all made in-house.
Located in Tsim Sha Shui, the shop is the revival of the popular vegan shop that it brings back many its 100% vegan menu favorites, including sandwiches, burritos, desserts, and drinks. Dishes such as the avocado tuna bagel and veggie balls with tartar sauce feature Omnipork and konjac to create the texture of meat.
Got a sweet tooth? Try the chocolate brownie and banana bread. Also look for their daily cakes which uses a variety of fresh ingredients ranging from mango to figs to durian.
Vego’s interior is said to be in Japanese style for its simple, warm, and elegant design. You would love their decoration of both fresh and dried flowers.
Like most coffee shops in Hong Kong, at Vego, there are only a handful of seats inside. It is not uncommon for customers to wait to get a table. Go for the seat by the window and enjoy people-watching.
A few things to note:
The shop has a minimum 1 drink policy, so if you plan to try only food, you will still need to order a drink.
Customers are expected to clear the table and return the food tray to the counter.
For payment, Vego takes only cash and PayMe, an transaction app developed for HSBC account holders.
