If you sneak a peek at the shoes Hong Kongers are putting on, it is not difficult to understand why there is a street dedicated to sneakers at Mongkok. Fa Yuen Street, aka Sneaker Street, a renowned neighborhood of stores selling footwear and sportswear of the latest designs and limited editions, is a must-go place for all the sneaker fanatics. Whilst the glossy stores on the streets are mostly offering the same styles, head upstairs to find the rarest pair to be one of a kind!

The economic boom in Hong Kong in the 1970s was no joke, which forced a lot of businesses located along Nathan Road – the spine of the Kowloon peninsula to move to other locations with cheaper rentals. Fa Yuen Street adjacent to it was deemed to be the perfect area for relocation, and many new stores also moved in later in time, transforming the street into the current hub of sneakerheads.

But you will get disappointed if you expect cheap deals from the place, which has been dominated by a few retail shops that have set standardized prices for the items. No worries, there are still lots to explore above the street stores and here are our recommendations:

Flight23HK

1 – Flight23HK will make every Air Jordan lover scream, as there is a wall displaying the full collection of AJ History of Flight;

Sole Addictt UNDS

2 – If you are a sneaker addict with an environmentally conscious mind, hop over to Sole AddicttUNDS for their second-hand items of limited editions.

Second Kill

3 – It could be a bit tedious just looking at footwear if you are not a big fan but Second Kill can make you lose yourself in their selection of both trendy-lit apparel and accessories.
