The “King of Street Food” (小食皇) has had a good reputation filling the foodie stomachs with mouthwatering cheap street food. The sizzling sounds and the lingering aroma of the deep-fried goodness do make people extra hangry though(!), thanks to the usual queue outside the food stall. You can find a wide range of selections on the menu with prices ranging from $4 to $30, depending how much and what you are getting. Make sure you grab a few friends so as to taste a little bit of everything!

Shop front

The first thing you should try is their fried boneless chicken. Its golden-brown skin is already tempting enough to make you bite into it the first second you receive it – but your tongue might hurt a little because of the piping hot juicy meat. With a crispy outside and tender inside, these chicken pieces will leave you good memories. It comes in two sizes: 4 pieces in half portion ($30) whilst 8 pieces in full portion ($56). So which one to go for? The more the merrier the cheaper.

Fried Boneless Chicken

Another good pick is the classic “Three Stuffed Treasures” (煎釀三寶), which is one of the go-to treats for locals. With every piece stuffed with dace fish meat laid out in front of you, you can pick 4 pieces indeed for $13, which includes eggplants, bell peppers, sausages, tofu, etc. Well drizzled with soy sauce, the treasures offer a mouthful of savoriness with a hint of sweetness from the veggies. The fish meat inside is chewy and bouncy that balances out the tenderness of the outside. Just pay $3 more for an additional piece if you want more!
