Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal
The Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal indicates heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 30 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.
What does this mean? Lives go on as usual, bring an umbrella. If you are caught outdoors, track the rainstorm radar here to plan your day.

Red Rainstorm Warning Signal
Heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 50 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.
What does this mean? Some services maybe disrupted, especially if it involves outdoor duties. If you are caught outdoors, find shelter and track the rainstorm radar here. You may want to stay indoor until the rainstorm passes.
Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
Very heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 70 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.
What does this mean? Stay indoors, services will stop if it involves outdoor duties. If you are caught outdoors, find shelter and track the rainstorm radar here. Stay indoor until the rainstorm passes.
Please note some attractions like Ocean Park may be closed under the Rainstorm weather signal. You are advised to confirm the business hours with the attraction before your departure.
Moreover, travel insurance usually does not reimburse any injuries or loss caused by bad weather. Therefore, you are strongly advised to stay indoors when Red or Black Rainstorm is issued.
