Never have you been to Hong Kong if you didn’t watch the night view from The Peak. Guess you may have seen lots of photos showing its fascination, yet they seldom tell where’s the best location. Here’s the spot, Victoria Peak’s Lion Pavilion.
The unparalleled angle to the harbour
Hong Kong’s night view, known as the Pearl of the Orient, is one of the top three most beautiful sceneries in the world. It’s invariably an attraction to the travellers not only because of its magnificent cityscape, but also it’s free of charge. Whenever you come, you will be intrigued and unwilling to leave as if the Lord of the Ring is on your hand.
However, better not just stare at the skyscrapers, come and see the Lion Pavilion itself. Built in Chinese style, you may be obsessed with the pavilion that has all the traditional elements included – stones lions, moon arches, greens tiles and so. Every detail counts.
In addition, you may also visit the rickshaws that occasionally appear outside the pavilion. It is a driver pulling a two-wheeled vehicle carrying one passenger with his bare hands. Having superseded by automobiles, it has now become a prop for photos. You may first go to The Peak, and go along with Findlay Road.
Interesting history of Lion Pavilion
Speaking of Lion Pavilion, there are in fact nine Lion Pavilions in Hong Kong, all of which are donated by Hong Kong Lion Club, whose name also resembles the Lion Rock across the harbour as an emblem of perseverance. All the pavilions are built in traditional style but have nuance on each. Go explore should you get a chance.
