Located one floor above Sheung Wan Market, Sheung Wan Cooked Food Centre is a hidden gem in the metropolis. It is one of the remaining indoor Dai Pai Dong (大排檔) in Hong Kong that attracts the locals with its cheap and tasty fast meal. For the workmen, Sheung Wan Cooked Food Centre is like their daily canteen. During lunch hour, you will easily see a lot of workers grabbing their quick meals and hear their cheerful chit-chat over the large round table.

Inside Sheung Wan Cooked Food Centre, you can also find food stalls selling a wide variety of dishes. From Thai food to dim sum, from Japanese grilled food to Cha Chaan Teng classics, this cooked food centre is the perfect spot if you want to explore the most authentic taste of local Hong Kong food!

Uncertain of what to order? Try these recommendations out!

  1. Iced bottled milk tea from Shui Kee Coffee

Their bottled milk tea is definitely one of the best in town! Unlike ordinary iced milk tea in which ice is added into a cup of hot milk tea, the iced bottled milk tea here is refrigerated in advance so that the flavour of milk tea is not diluted by melting ice.

The ratio of milk and tea is just spot on. Have a sip of their silky milk tea and you’ll enjoy a great day ahead!

2. Fried taro cake from Lei Heung Restaurant

Fried taro cake is another must-try! Munch on this aromatic goodie, and you will appreciate the perfect golden crust! As you have your next bite, you will find out that the inner layer is both soft and chewy. The pleasant aroma of taro also lingers!
