Talking about the skyline of Hong Kong, it is impossible not to be aware of the prominent International Finance Center, situated at the Central harbourfront comprising of two skyscrapers, the IFC mall and the Four Seasons Hotel, shaping the Hong Kong skyline since 1998. The two sky-scraping buildings, designed by the renowned urban landmark architect César Pelli, are 210m tall of 39 storeys and 415m tall of 88 storeys, with notable tenants like UBS, BNP Paribas and State Street. The towers were featured in several Hollywood movies, like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, and The Dark Knight.

Hong Kong Monetary Authority has owned four floors in Two IFC, and the 55th floor is open to the public as the HKMA Information Center. It is an interactive exhibition and research library of Hong Kong monetary and banking history, suitable for kids and adults to learn some fun facts about currency notes and coins, and enjoy the spectacular view of the Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula despite heat and rain. The admission is free, and it offers guided tour at 14:30 on weekdays and 10:30 on Saturdays.

If you look for a place to kill time after checking in at Hong Kong Station flight counter, IFC mall can be a good spot for dining before your departure. It has a wide variety of restaurants to choose ranging from Shanghaiese dim sum, Michelin-star ramen and other Asian cuisines. The mall also has a roof garden on the top floor (4/F) where you can have a drink accompanied by a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour.
