Tucked away in Central’s posh Landmark mall is Dr Fern’s, an atmospheric speakeasy-like bar that combines fine gin and aromatic botanicals in fancy teacups.
The speakeasy is based on a fictional character Dr Robben Ferns, an eccentric physician who has dedicated his life to studying botanicals and treats his stressed patients with his concoction of fresh, local herbs and botanicals- paired with gin. You will have to first enter via the “Waiting Room” before reaching an apothecary-inspired drinking den.
Interesting story and setting aside, the bar houses over 250 gins showcasing premium bottles from all around the world. There’s an extensive menu of vegetable/botanical/herb-based cocktails. From citrusy or sweet to the more spicy and savoury or fruity and floral, there is a cocktail for everyone.
In fact, it is also nice to come in day time, when the bar provides delicious coffee and seasonal selection of organic botanical teas, perfect for a quick post-work chill sesh or afternoon tea. But if you are into Dr Fern’s alcoholic prescriptions, they have a selection of bar bites such as Charcuterie or Mixed Cheese boards for you to shake up the mood.
