Craving for something that can spice up your taste buds? Hop over to “Daai Goon Yuen” (大觀園食坊) for some Sichuan’s numb-spiciness! The eatery was once just a small food stall around the corner of the Main Street East, but it got transformed to a restaurant with much nicer interior and setting due to the continuous support from the locals. Their signature dishes – Saliva Chicken Wings and Chong Hing Spicy Dumplings attract lots of returned customers, not only because of the decent prices but also the quality.

The presentation of the Saliva Chicken Wings (口水雞翼) ($28) is already mouthwatering enough to stimulate your saliva! Soaked in red chili sauce made out of Sichuan peppers and garnished with scallions and sesame, the dish serves as a great appetizer that can certainly whet your appetite through the tingling and numbing sensation. The owner is also considerate to serve the Saliva Chicken Wings cut in half at joints, for you to enjoy without a mess!

Their Chong Hing Spicy Dumplings (紅油雲吞) ($36) is another must-try item! The wrapped meaty goodness is served in a bowl of brownish translucent broth with chili oil floating on its surface, and again garnished with sesame and scallions to top it off. The bite-size dumplings are all hand-wrapped by the owner and so rich in meaty flavors being filled with pure minced pork. They serve up to 20 dumplings in one bowl, which is pretty generous portion-wise. Hope your taste buds are still functioning after the two dishes(!).
