If you fancy a try of Peking ducking in Hong Kong, then Peking Garden is the place to go.
Established in 1978, Peking Garden is one of Maxim’s Chinese Cuisine’s longest-standing and most well-acclaimed provincial cuisine restaurants that serve authentic Peking (Beijing style) cuisine.
While there are branches in different districts, Peking Garden in Central is comfortable and cosy in its own way, with a look of a typical classy market Chinese restaurant.
The classic Peking Duck is a must try. – Roast duck skin slices wrapped in thin, chewy pancakes, complement with cucumber and spring onion, and sweet bean sauce. The result? Crispy, crunchy mixed texture with a rich flavour of duck meat juice and grease that explodes at your bite.
Another restaurant signature – deep-fried sliced fish with sweet and sour sauce – will hit the spot. The fish is sliced thick and holds up well against the batter. Dressed in sweet and sour sauce, this dish delights your inner child with a plate of deep-fried goodness for adults. Not a fan of fish? Deep-fried prawns in chilli sauce is just as great.
In the menu, there’s a small page each for reds and whites. No wines by the glass. You can bring your own bottle to Peking Garden at a cost of HK$200 for corkage charge.
Service is delivered efficiently and enthusiastically. The staff are genuinely pleased to serve diners with professionalism and warmth.
Dinner for two without wine will cost about HK$500 to HK$600 without ordering expensive dishes like seafood or bird’s nest. In all, Peking Garden is priced fairly for their great food and service
