Running since 2014, the city’s ferris wheel is rather young compared to those in other cities, yet it is conveniently located at the Central Harbourfront overlooking Victoria Harbour, which is easily accessible whether you are taking the Star Ferry or the metro. It is 60-meter in height with 43 air-conditioned gondolas, each with the capacity of 8 people. Each ride of three full circles is 15 minutes. Priced at just HK$20 per head, the operator wants to make it an affordable experience for everyone.
Next to the wheel there is also a merry-go-round, the AIA Vitality Park that regularly hosts a variety of wellness events, and also snack stalls that make the entire attraction more fun and dynamic. The park has public tables and benches for you to enjoy some local snacks like siu mai, fish balls or egg waffles at the food stall after the wheel ride. My personal favourite? Happy Cow, a local manufacturer of dairy-free frozen dessert. Even if you are a plant-based diet advocate, you can enjoy their burden-free vegan ice cream. It’s a pleasure especially in the summer days.
