Who doesn’t like a lazy chill afternoon sipping a drink with a view? It is certainly better if you do it at the Boathouse, a cute little yellow house located at the corner of the famous boardwalk overlooking the Stanley Bay, where you can take your time amid the chill vibes of the westernized town.
The Boathouse was originally built as two houses separately in 1948 & 1951 and they were converted into a restaurant in 1970s. The land deed of the Boathouse can be traced back to January 26th, 1841, this means people was buying this land from the hands of the British Colonial government then! Many of the interior has been refitted for the restaurant business, but the exterior of the Boathouse has become an icon for Stanley.
The 2-storey restaurant in stylish coastal-themed décor serves a good range of seafood-oriented international dishes and cocktails, and they are considerate enough to cater to the needs of the vegetarians! Get up to the 2nd floor, grab the terrace seating and try out the following refreshing dishes and drinks to satisfy your afternoon cravings.
Complemented with a hint of sourness and saltiness from the cider dressing, the signature Boathouse Salad ($128) with fresh fruits and greens can for sure increase your appetite, and urge you to gobble up more of the Truffle Fries ($78) that are crispy and decently seasoned. The truffle dipping sauce coming along also goes really well with the golden crunchiness. Now take a sip of the Sangria Boathouse Style ($88) and try best to stay sober from the classic Spanish drink blended with three other spirits: Rum, Triple Sec & Brandy. If you prefer lighter drinks, go for the Wet Woody ($88) – a peach and pineapple-flavored cocktail mixed with Vodka and Rum, to refresh your taste buds and mood. The drinks are served in two huge glass beer boots – which makes a totally picture-perfect moment!
You may have noticed the picks are tailoring for vegetarians but no worries, there are plenty of meat dishes that include their chef-recommended Wagyu Beef Burger, Baby Back Pork Ribs and Boston Clam Chowder if you are meat lovers. Frankly speaking – the prices are a bit higher than average in town in terms of the food quality but it can be justified if the food is accompanied by its cute interior and such breathtaking waterfront views!
