If you’re looking for a new venue for your Instagram photos — you’re in luck! This hipster café is stylish and photogenic from all angles, and it’s got a great history as well.
Located in a revitalised, 80-year-old building that previously housed a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic, Tai Wo Tang has kept those roots in tact. Right behind the coffee bar, you’ll see rows of apothecary drawers that cover the entire wall up to the ceiling. Previously used to hold the Chinese medicine, they now serve as an iconic design detail of Tai Wo Tang.
Just as their interior design, Tai Wo Tang Cafe serves Western-style dishes with a Cantonese twist. The most popular items on the menu include fried chicken and Cantonese egg waffles—a play on the American diner staple, chicken and waffles, and the melt-in-your-mouth homemade pineapple bun with foie gras.
Their all-day breakfast is also popular to which many customers like to order the coffee shop’s signature Tai Wong Tang latte, a rich brew infused with light hints of Earl Grey.
