July 15, 2021

Assalamualaikum. I know it’s tough, my muslim friends. It seems that while in Hong Kong, you just can’t enjoy good local food worry-free for our food culture is pork-heavy. But, hey, I’ve got good news for you. There are actually local restaurants that serves good Halal food, from Dim Sum to some extraordinary juicy beef buns, without compromising the taste and localness. So check this list out!

  1. Islamic Centre Canteen

Here it comes! Halal Dim Sum! Hidden in a mosque in Wan Chai, the only cantonese halal restaurant in town has been serving dim sum where pork is replaced by either chicken or beef since 2005. Its extensive menu features also wonton noodles, stir-fried beef noodles, and sweet and sour chicken.

  1. Islam Food

One of the most well-known restaurants in Kowloon City, the halal-certified has been serving Chinese Islamic food since the 1980s. Slightly crispy on the outside, and juice-bursting on the inside, their pan-fried beef bun is something you can’t miss!
